Vy Le, a standout undergraduate from Western Illinois University’s (WIU) Human Resource Program, recently took a significant step in her professional journey by attending the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Annual Conference and Expo in Chicago, IL.
The prestigious event brought together a diverse group of industry experts and thought leaders to discuss the latest advancements and trends in human resources. Topics ranged from talent acquisition and mental health to empathetic leadership, employee engagement, and cutting-edge HR technology.
For Le, the experience was nothing short of transformative. “Attending the SHRM Conference allowed me to engage with numerous HR professionals and vendors, including those affiliated with Ascentra Credit Union, where I’m currently interning. I also had the opportunity to meet the team from MRA and even participated in their podcast, answering HR-related questions,” Le shared. “The conference opened many doors for me and heightened my excitement to dive into the professional HR world.”
WIU’s HRM program is renowned for its robust curriculum, which is aligned with SHRM standards and geared toward preparing students for professional certification.
