Gusto, the human resources (HR) and payroll platform has announced the upcoming launch of its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, Gus, aimed at helping small business owners streamline daily operations. On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Gusto revealed the opening of a waitlist for business owners eager to use the new AI tool.
“Gus provides quick answers to common questions like compliance requirements or tax filing steps,” said Gusto’s Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Edward Kim. The AI assistant offers answers and personalized insights based on business data from the Gusto platform, Kim added.
AI to Boost Efficiency for Small Businesses
Gus is designed to simplify tasks such as onboarding employees, managing paid time off requests, and making salary changes. By integrating natural language processing, business owners can ask questions like “How do I onboard a new employee?” and Gus will deliver step-by-step instructions along with relevant support links.
The tool’s ability to provide natural language insights and assist in executing tasks is expected to save business owner’s valuable time. “While Gus is still developing,” said Kim, “its potential is immense, and we’re excited to expand its capabilities in the coming months.”
A Growing Market for AI Assistants
As AI technology continues to grow in popularity, Gusto’s Gus sets to compete in a marketplace increasingly filled with AI-driven solutions for business management. PYMNTS reported in May that many firms, such as Klarna, are already leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows. Klarna’s AI assistant, Kiki, for example, manages over 2,000 employee inquiries daily.
With the addition of Gus, Gusto hopes to offer custom AI support to business owners seeking to automate HR processes.
For small businesses examining to streamline operations, Gus could be the essential tool. Gusto has opened its waitlist, allowing businesses to be among the first to benefit from this cutting-edge AI technology.
