Humana Inc., a leading health and well-being company, has announced the appointment of Michelle O’Hara as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, effective January 1, 2025. O’Hara, a seasoned leader in human resources, will oversee talent strategy and people programs for Humana’s 63,000-strong workforce.
A Proven Track Record in HR Leadership
O’Hara brings more than 20 years of HR experience, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500 technology firm. During her tenure, she was instrumental in enhancing workplace culture, talent acquisition, and diversity, helping SAIC navigate significant growth and change. Her leadership at SAIC earned her a reputation for transforming HR capabilities and driving organizational success.
A New Era for Humana’s People Strategy
O’Hara’s appointment marks a significant moment for Humana, as the company continues to focus on strengthening its workforce. Humana President and CEO, Jim Rechtin, expressed his excitement, stating, “Michelle’s leadership will be invaluable as we continue to empower our employees and ensure Humana remains a top employer of choice.”
She succeeds Tim Huval, who has announced his retirement at the end of 2024 after 12 successful years at Humana.
