San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is known to have implemented and achieved commendable human resources programs and thus has bagged the ‘Overall Human Resources Program Award’ from Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA). This prestigious award recognizes SFO’s endeavors to build and sustain a strong and healthy workforce culture and provide proper training and growth for the company’s personnel.
The award highlights SFO’s industry-leading programmes aimed at nurturing the next generation of aviation leaders. ACI-NA president and CEO, Kevin Burke, commended SFO’s efforts, stating, “Human resources play an integral role in establishing and implementing a positive workforce culture at airports. SFO has shown its commitment towards its employees since within the last fiscal year it developed a new vision and mission statements and the preparation and implementation of the five-year strategic plan. Currently, SFO has advanced the implementation of Racial Equity Action Plan to Phase 2 where the airport’s community & economic engagement is prioritized. In addition to this phase, programmes included a career conference that SFO supported together with programmes aimed at providing technical training, leadership training and career mentoring.
Moreover, in the upcoming weeks SFO plans to implement a detailed leadership training program before the end of this year. This leadership and management six-month course will include online lessons, full day sessions, and business mentoring with the aim of enhancing the necessary pneumonic for its employees demanded for successful work in the aviation field.
